The site is located in Whitechapel, off Commercial Road, only minutes away from Aldgate and the City. The design had to take into account being surrounded on three sides and therefore lent itself to a courtyard development up to seven storeys with five commercial units at the ground floor (650 sq meters in total).

Negotiations were successfully concluded with Toynbee HA, a major social housing provider in the area, who carried out a mixed tenure proposal of mainly shared ownership and affordable rent with a small element of five units for outright sale.

Not only a successful land transaction, Aitch Group also carried out the construction works on behalf of Toynbee HA, which was completed on time and within budget. This laid the foundation for future work within the housing association sector over the years to come.
